Good news, today I received my first affiliate commission check from Perfect Paycheck for $32.40. It's not much, but it's free money. If you would like to sign up with Perfect Paycheck, I have more good news, they are 100% free to join! You just can't beat free.

The reason I like Perfect Paycheck's affiliate network so much is because of their out of the ordinary way of paying out affiliate commissions. What I mean is instead of earning on a per sale basis, where someone has to buy something in order for you to receive a commission, you can earn on a per lead basis. This means that all someone has to do is fill out a one page web form, or even better yet, just fill out their name and e-mail address and you can earn anywhere between $1.00 all the way up $70.00 per lead. Most of the per lead commissions will be around $1.00 to $3.00 on average though. I've only seen $30.00 to $70.00 commissions on a rare basis and they don't last very long.

I want to go over the top 10 reasons I found on why you should own your own home based business on top of your day job. There are a lot of people who have jobs, not as much as we would like in our current economic state, yet this makes it even more important to have more than one income stream to support you and your family.

Something important to note is that most rich people have more than one income stream. When I say more than one income stream, I mean more like 5 to 10 income streams. They may have a job, a couple businesses on the side, investments in the market, investments in real estate, and income from royalties elsewhere all bringing in residual income whether they work or not.

For example; to start and buy into a Franchise, depending on which Franchise you decide to get involved in, will cost multiple thousands of dollars all the way up to the millions. The last option would be to start your own business from scratch. This is also very difficult and it's hard to get start up capital if you don't have a top notch business plan in place. To start a home based business will only cost anywhere from free to a couple hundred dollars to buy in on average.


3. Tax benefits are always good. If you don't own a home based business, you are missing out on a lot of tax loop holes that you would never get with a job alone.


4. Owning your own home based business allows you to build your wealth part time while you continue to work. This way you aren't taking any huge risks yet you add an additional income stream anyway.

These days, there are so many business opportunities to choose from that it makes your head spin. It's almost like every week you see a couple new ones you've never heard of before. This makes it very easy and tempting to sign up for as many as you can, especially if they are free. If the business opportunities you are joining aren't free, then you really need to slow down or else you'll find yourself in a heap of losses.

You see, it's difficult enough to build just one business opportunity. What makes you think you can build multiple business opportunities at once. I only mention this because a lot of the members in my down lines try something I'm offering like Global Domains International or The New Plan Network. They like the compensation plan and everything, but before they can get started with these great and affordable business opportunities they find something else they are interested in. This just doesn't work folks.

It is true that you need to test what's out there. They say that the average millionaire took about 7 business failures before he or she found something that worked. So the goal is to find something that works for you. GDI and NPN work for me just fine, so I'm sticking with these. Yeah, I might take a look at another opportunity out there. But if I see it was a $30.00 plus a month fee, I'll most likely stay away from it. I only join business opportunities if they are free. This is because I don't believe you should have to pay to promote someone else's products or services for them. It just doesn't make logical sense.

Make sure not to fall for all the hype. A good example of this was when Wowzza came out. I saw e-mails for it everywhere on the Internet and thought it would be the next best thing. I tried it for a few months, referred some people got some spillover, etc.. Then I saw those people I signed up cancel. It was difficult working on all those business opportunities. I knew I already built GDI and NPN up where they were profitable for me. So I cut my losses with Wowzza. A few months after they opened up, it was like you never knew they existed. No one was promoting them anymore. This is an example of hype.

Find the one or two business opportunities that work for you, then stick with them to the end of time. It takes time to build a business. It doesn't happen overnight.

Survey Scout by themselves isn't really a survey company, what Survey Scout does is provide you with a list of over 250 survey companies that are free to join. A lot of the survey companies Survey Scout recommends are international, so you don't have to be from the United States or Canada to join all of them.

Survey Scout only has a one time fee to get access to the list of survey companies they have compiled over the years. I believe that one time fee is only $36.95, don't quote me on this though.
